Slinging Around

A voluntary sling library here to support families across Dumfries and Galloway to carry their children safely

Who are Slinging Around?

Slinging Around was conceived back in September 2013, out of a local need for all things Babywearing. The dream was to create an accessible platform, with which to reach out to people in need of  guidance and reassurance when wearing their babies.

Debbie started a Facebook group for parents, where they could chat and ask questions amongst like minded individuals and from there it grew into a fortnightly meet over a coffee.

We’ve gone from strength to strength! We are an independent Sling Library not affiliated to any other organisation.

Since then the demand to be able to hire carriers increased, as did the necessity for specialist and honest advice. We pride ourselves on giving you the very best; your baby deserves the very best.

In December 2013 Debbie completed her Peer Support Training and in March 2014, she went on to complete her Babywearing Consultancy Training from the School of Babywearing.

Sling meets began in May 2014 and we have had an amazing 8 months! We have expanded into North West Dumfries, Dumfries Town Centre and Lockerbie and the only way is up up up!

With our expansion came the time to recruit and train more passionate babywearer’s, Emma, who joined me in Slingababy Training for Babywearing Consultants and Kirsty, Brooke, Emma P, Gail and Rachael who have trained with Born to Carry as Peer Supporters0

Welcome to the Team girls!
